This weekend, after we saw The Producers, which was FANTASTIC, we rented a few movies to finish off the weekend.
Meet the Fockers was pretty funny. I don’t think it was as disappointing as other sequels have been. When the Byrnes family meets the Focker family, dogs and cats collide, conservatives and hippies tread on eggshells, and the Circle of Trust is at risk! The way these two families take on their differences was an exaggerated version of what might happen in real life but still very well written and funny throughout. More than just funny lines used on the trailers. I’ve gotta say that Barbara Streisand was like buttah! She was too funny.
Greg Focker: You meet some of the… eh… some of the cousins?
Jack Byrnes: I met some, yes. I met some… Dom?
Greg Focker: Yeah, Dom Focker, that’s my dad’s… uh… first cousin. You meet his kids, Randy and Orny?
HA! I give this movie 4 out of 5 stars.
Life Aquatic was okay. Bill Murray is going down the “artsy” lane with his recent movies and I haven’t really been that impressed. The movie was quite choppy in its delivery and I found myself doing things other than watching the movie. I think I even fell asleep for a bit. I finally sat down and watched the last third of the movie (and enjoyed what I saw) but it just didn’t hold my attention for the most part. I think Len enjoyed the movie quite a bit. It’s hard to rate it, really. Even the diving scenes didn’t keep me very occupied. *Not recommended with people suffering from ADHD.*
Hmmm…. I dunno. Let’s break even and give it 2.5 out of 5 stars.
