  1. My heart sank with sadness when the news of such a wonderful and powerful force of talent and inspiration had passed this morning. As a former student of Mrs. Gorzycki and a lifelong admirer, I was shocked to hear of such a tragic loss to our musical family and community. She has inspired hundreds of thousands of great individuals through the years to go above and beyond what they ever dreamed they could accomplish. Yes, she was strict at times, but just like any great mentor needs to be she always had a kind and endearing smile that comforted you and let you know that everything would work out in the end. She was a force to be reckoned with; although she might not have stood much taller than her students, the shadow she cast was far beyond measurement. She will be forever missed but never forgotten.
