Open your book of good…this one’s FREE!!

A favor to ask, it only takes a minute….

Please tell ten friends to tell ten today! The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on their site daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on “donating a mammogram” for free (pink window in the middle).

This doesn’t cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for advertising.

Here’s the web site! Pass it along to people you know.

Global Cooling?

Today is April 7, 2007 and it is currently 37 degrees outside. I had to turn on my heater! What’s up with that???

————————————–UPDATE————————————–

You know, they say if you don’t like the weather in Texas wait a bit and it’ll change. This is now getting ridiculous. Not only is it raining, we’ve added hail to the mix now. Crazy weather!! Okay, who complained??? It was beautiful last weekend!!

The Big Trip, pt. 3

On Day 2, we got up and headed to the Sears Tower. Sears, Roebuck & Co. haven’t occupied the tower for many years but it’s still a magnificent place to go; especially when visibility isn’t that bad. Funny story, though – when you go visit the observatory at Sears Tower, you have to go to the basement to get to the elevators that take you to the top. As the kids were streaming into the lobby to go down to the basement, I told them all that’s where they were going and it was just a tour of the basement. Some of them actually believed me and were very confused! So, with that being said, I give you –

It’s a very tall building!

The Sear’s Tower Doorman

Waiting for the history movie in the basement:

Can you tell we’d gotten a good night’s sleep?
Happy band directors = happy band kids and a good trip!

Going up!

We’re here!

Chicago from up high:

Can you see the Shedd Aquarium?

Checking out the sights:

Friends at any height:

Trumpet players:

The Chaperones are “high”. (yeah, corny joke, I know)

On the way out, we found this cool art on the wall and Hesi decided to be a part of the art!

Next, the last part of our time in Chicago – The Magnificent Mile & Gino’s Pizza!

The Big Trip, pt. 2

So, after lunch at Ed Debevics, we headed on to Shedd Aquarium to view the fishies! Check out some of these colors and cool species. Have I mentioned how much I LOVE aquatic life???

And the chaperones on display:

We were so tired! By this point, I think we’d been up pretty much 30 hours straight!

Thank goodness for the Sleep Number Bed in the hotel!!

Next, day 2 in Chicago – The Sears Tower, Magnificent Mile and Gino’s Pizza.
