2 Days “Free”!

Well, I have both Saturday & Sunday free this weekend. I really should take advantage of it while I have it. Have you seen what my October looks like? Crazy!

Like Kelly, I have so many chores I have to do, such as:

  • One hundred million loads of laundry (at current moment, 3 loads are done),
  • Vaccuum,
  • Clean kitchen,
  • Clean bathrooms,
  • Fix up guest bedroom (I now have furniture in there!!),
  • Mow yard
  • Water yard (this heat is killing my nice grass),
  • Put up artwork around house,
  • Organize home office
  • etc., etc., etc.!
  • And then, there are things I’d like to do:

  • Watch so many movies, both in the theatres and on video,
  • Cook,
  • Go shopping for new clothes,
  • Take a long, hot bath,
  • Have another gathering!,
  • etc., etc., etc.
  • So, I’ll try to balance all that out and get a little time in in my office at school (the paperwork is PILING up and the only way I can do it without interruption is either to stay late and try to work on it with a fried brain or go in on the weekend) the best I can. I know that I won’t get it all done but as long as a chunk of it gets done, I’ll be good for now. At least one movie and the bath will get done, that’s for sure!

On a different note, something about the chorus to the song “Breathe (2AM)” is really speaking to me this week. Here it is:

But you can’t jump the track, we’re like cars on a cable,
And life’s like an hourglass, glued to the table
No one can find the rewind button now
    Sing it if you understand.
    and breathe, just breathe
    woah breathe, just breathe,
    Oh breathe, just breathe,
    Oh breathe, just breathe.

I hope everyone else’s weekend is fulfilling in different ways as well. I will have a gathering again soon and you will be expected to attend! 😉

    Short songs

It’s amazing to me how the shortest songs can say so much:

    Nearness of You
    -Nora Jones

It’s not the pale moon that excites me
    That thrills and delights me
    Oh no
It’s just the nearness of you
    It isn’t your sweet conversation
    That brings this sensation
    Oh no
It’s just the nearness of you

When you’re in my arms and I feel you so close to me
All my wildest dreams came true
I need no soft lights to enchant me
If you would only grant me the right
to hold you ever so tight
And to feel in the night
    The nearness of you

    Colour My World
    -Chicago

    As time goes on
    I realize
    Just what you mean
    To me
    And now
    Now that youre near
    Promise your love
    That Ive waited to share
    And dreams
    Of our moments together
Color my world with hope of loving you

Am I listening to these songs because there’s someone I’m thinking about? Honestly, no. I just love how relaxing these songs are, both in melody and words.

    BOR-ING!!!

    Oh my, I sure am blog-boring lately….

    Sorry. It’s marching season.

Traci Finch (an SPHS alum) won Best Drum Major for Division III!!! I wanted to link the article from DCI.org but their servers are a smidge busy right now with everyone looking at results.

No, I got it. Here’s that link to Traci’s story!!

    DYING!!!

OH MY GOODNESS!!! I think I am going to die. I am now almost on hour 26 that I have been awake and I don’t know how much longer I can stay awake. I did my regular work schedule thing yesterday and then we (the band family) went to be extras in the TV show Friday Night Lights. It was LOADS of fun but I’m exhausted. We got there around 6:00 pm on Thursday and I finally left (once the kids all got picked up) at around 6:30 am on Friday. I went home, cleaned up and came right back to work. We have rehearsal from 4:00 – 8:00 pm tonight, too. Am I really that crazy?

More details (and maybe a pic or two from my phone) on the filming later.
