All this football in one post!!!

The Bobcats are going to the playoffs!!! They’ve won every game except the one against Texas A&M. And they gave those Aggies a run for their money!!! I was planning on going to a game this season, even before this news, but now, Skip & I are absolutely going to one of the last two home games.

Luckily, one of those home games doesn’t conflict with UT vs. Kansas on 11/12. I’m really excited about that game, too. After all these years of babysitting and helping raise him, I actually get to see Aaron Hudson march with a college band!!!!

On another football note, the Tigers of SPHS are doing well, too! If we win the next two games and all the other teams in the district continue with their win/loss patterns they’ve set this season, we’ll be tied for 3rd in the district. This means we actually have a chance at a play off game ourselves!! I’m so absolutely proud of these Tigers. I thought it might not happen until at least next year but these guys are kicking ass and taking names. Good job!!

That’s sports for now. Signing off, this is Big Benford! (LOL)

I don’t know what my problem is! Is this what getting old feels like? I am ACHING all down my legs!!! I opted out of going to IHOP even, which I think is a good decision considering I’ve been out sick this week and I have to judge early tomorrow. Middle school oboe room…should be fun…maybe…not!

Okay, griping out of the way. On to happier stuff.

Good game tonight. Those Tigers sure are putting in a good fight this season. I’m so very proud of them! Thanks to Cameron Bell for stopping by the band hall after the game. We really appreciate how hard he works for the team and he’s still so very gracious about what all the band does at the games. I wish more people had such a good heart. I’m sure they do, it’s just that people don’t always think to express their gratitude and such anymore. Oh well, what can you do? It was cool to watch the Goin’ Band from Raiderland. (Where are they going anyways? LOL…) They had a big bold sound. Reminded me of when I was in college and our motto was, “Good music is meant to be played loud.” This motto applies so much better to college groups, though, I must say. I’d never seen the Texas Tech band before so it was cool to see another college band perform. It was good to see all the 2003 Revolution folks, too! There must have been 7 or 8 of them.

So, I soaked in a tub, hoping to release whatever it is that’s making my legs ache and I think it’s worked. Thank goodness for Japanese hot springs minerals!!! Ancient Chinese secret…wait, no…Ancient JAPANESE secret! Whatever, it did the trick, I think. We’ll see tomorrow.

Goodnight everyone!

Day 2

Bleh! Apparently, one day in bed didn’t do the trick. I went to the morning rehearsal but felt so icky that I had to come home again. I hope this is the last day of this crap!!

The Rain in Spain….

It rained today, just as I got home. It felt good to walk in the rain. I hated that I had all my stuff ’cause even though my stuff is in their bags, they can still get wet and I didn’t want that to happen. I just wanted to dance in the rain. It felt so good with it falling on my face & body, almost cleansing away all that’s happened lately. I just wish it was cooler rain but we can’t have it all, huh?

Today, I was beat. I’m not too sure why, I got home after the booster meeting, ate and went to bed by 10 pm. I’m really glad that today was an early release day. Maybe the rushed feeling of an early release day helped to ’cause the exhaustion. Then again, I’ve been living on the verge of exhaustion for over a month now. It’s almost unavoidable for me this time of year. I’m just glad that my mom’s a massage therapist. Between the massages & wonderful talks, she can help ease the body aches I seem to experience with all the stress and exhaustion.

Only one more week until UIL Region Marching Contest. For this fall, this year, this is the big culminating event. If you’re in the North Austin area next Tuesday evening, around 8:45, please consider coming out and support the Stony Point HS Band. We actually perform at 8:45 pm so you’d have to be in the stands before then. If you’d like more details and/or directions, please feel free to comment or email me. We have a pretty fun show and would love all the audience support we can find.
