Wait, stop, rewind….

This house thing is driving me crazy. It’s actually not officially under contract after all. The guy is still being a stickler about everything. He’s a CPA for the IRS and apparently, he’s been in seminars from 7 am – 8 pm and unable to get to his office computer to print out, sign and get the contracts back to my people. My realtor Karen & I were thinking that maybe he’s delaying to see if another offer comes around but the seller’s agent assures her that’s not the case. Somehow, I’m feeling a bit of “I’ll believe it when I see it” right now. Hopefully, I’ll get a call any minute because the seller’s agent is supposed to go to where ever this seminar is being held to have the guy sign it in person. Hopefully, this agent will go straight to a Kinko’s and fax it to Karen. Once that’s done, we can have the inspector come out. He was supposed to come today but I’m not paying $300 for an inspection on a home I may not be able to purchase!!

Karen’s such an awesome realtor, by the way. If you’re in the Austin area and you’re looking to purchase a house, I highly recommend having her help you.

*Sigh* Step 1 of house purchase – DONE.

Okay, I have a house in contract!!! It’s more than I wanted to pay for it but in the long run, the resale value will make up for it and the payments aren’t going to be too much more per month.

The next step is the inspection and appraisal. Hopefully, the inspection will come back okay. I’m not sure what I’m looking for the appraisal to tell me as far as the value on the house. With my parents house, we wanted the appraisal to come back as high as possible…this makes the loan-to-value percentage much smaller; better loan. I don’t think it works that way on a first time buy.

Still being a little supersticious but since you guys are so supportive of my house purchase process, I thought I’d let you know that I once again have a house under contract. Once I’m sure we’re going to go through with it, I’ll post pics and many, many details. Thanks for being patient. 🙂

Oh, and as far as the poison oak thing, the rash has healed quite a bit, with very little weaping. It only itches as the ointment I have starts to wear off and the only real negative thing at this point is my skin (including my lips) is very dry. Thank goodness it didn’t last too long!

Yet again, ARGH!!!

The stress I’ve had in my life lately has caused my body to be uber sensitive to things I’ve never known I was allergic to. The reaction started out as two small rash spots on my chin at the beginning of the week. I was thinking maybe I’d gotten into poison ivy again or something so I was treating it as such. The spots had grown a bit through the week but poison ivy (although not contageous once it starts to develop into a rash) does that. On Friday night, a few more spots had developed then before I knew it, half my face was starting to swell. It was as if the spots were playing connect the dots. We’ve determined that the crazy weather we’ve had lately has hurled a bunch of allergens in the air and my body was absorbing anything it could to give it strength. Unfortunately, when the body does that, it also tends to take in things that aren’t so good for you as well. No Skip, I won’t post a picture of my face here.

I’m going to change some eating habits – clean up what I take in. I’m not going to become a vegan or anything too intense. I’m going to cut out red meats, eggs, dairy products, white sugar and coffee as much as possible. I’m going to add a few supplements (all natural, mostly vitamins) and try to keep up the regular exercise I’ve been doing lately.

So, not only am I looking like a chipmunk right now, I’ve hit a wall with this house. The owner doesn’t want to negotiate AT ALL with the price or any selling terms. The damn house has been on the market since November, I’m willing to take it off his hands in three weeks and because I’m offering lower than he wants (and not something ridiculously low), no go. I’m going to raise my offer to as high as I can go (which is still a little under what he’s asking) and hope for the best. I should have NEVER talked about it yet! (I know this isn’t really the reason I’m having issues on this.)

———————Update———————

With the help of rest, lots of water, vitamins, fruits and other healthy foods as well as aloe vera jelly and colloidal silver, the swelling has gone down and the itching has subsided!!! Hopefully, this will all pass by the end of the week.

I forgot to mention that I played in a tennis tournament yesterday and it was a lot of fun. It was a mixed doubles tourney the tennis team put on as a fundraiser. A lot of faculty played and it was quite evident that many faculty spend a lot of time indoors, or at least not on a tennis court. I didn’t stay long enough to see who won but my team was eliminated in the second round. I had a lot of fun but I’m quite sore today….

Maybe…

…I found the one – the perfect house. It has everything I need in a house and almost everything I was wanting to boot. I’m feeling a little superstitious about sharing the details just yet so I’m going to wait. Kelly & Cathy T are going to have to wait the the details with me. It is in Pflugerville and has been on the market since November. Think good thoughts for me and this house. I’ll post details once I know more on if the offer takes, the inspection is good and have a closing date set.

Gas Prices SUCK!!!
Gas Prices suck!

Bleh…

All that “all-day, every day” thing I mentioned in my last post has definitely gotten to me. Although I went to bed early last night and got a full night’s sleep (heavy, heavy sleep, too), it was still really hard for me to get up this morning. I dragged myself to school at my normal 6:30 am time for jazz band but just couldn’t make it through the day. Just not feeling good at all. Head hurting, stomach turning, body aching, and a touch of feeling like I had a fever were my symptoms this morning. Thank goodness for understanding co-workers.

By 9 am, I was heading home to go back to bed. I slept until around 1 pm when my parents came over with fresh fruits and yummy juices. Have you ever tried Bolthouse Farms Green Goodness juice? Good stuff. I’m feeling quite a bit better now and I should be back to work tomorrow, 6:30 am for jazz band again. No school on Friday…it could very well be time for more sleep. It will definitely be a day for cleaning around this place.
