2006 is gonna be fabulous!!!

Sorry I didn’t post this before today. I guess we can start this year with the last C&H ‘toon!
Snowman Suicide

Happy New Year!New Years was good. Cathy & I went to The Dog & Duck Pub to meet folks from her work. I got Cathy a flask for Christmas so she wanted to use it and since I had one, we armed ourselves with some Crown and were on our way. Good thing, they don’t sell mixed drinks (other than mixed beer drinks) there! They just have a beer/win license so our bringing liquor was actually a-okay. 🙂

Oh my, they didn’t really “plan” for New Years folks so they only had one bottle of champagne so as soon as Cathy & I found out, I bought it! Damned if we weren’t going to ring in the New Year without champagne. It wasn’t the best stuff but it had bubbles so I was okay. After we closed down the joint, we headed to Kerbey Lane Cafe on campus. If you go and have a salad there, you MUST try the soy-ginger dressing. It’s AMAZING! Kelly, pictures can seen by clicking on my pic above. I did promise and I work very hard to follow through. 🙂

I got home around 5 am (as I posted earlier) and went straight to sleep. I managed to sleep until around 7. The sun started coming up and was in full force by 7:30. It sure does make it hard to sleep. I managed to sleep until about 10 am so I got 5 hours of sleep. I’ve spent most of today feeling like I’ve been hit by a semi. This feeling really isn’t from drinking too much, but it’s from not getting enough sleep after a long day. I did spend most of yesterday finishing up my house cleaning. I hate when I don’t get enough sleep. A day of doing absolutely nothing except going to see my folks is just what I needed.

So, lots of fun, new friends and a whole new year. This is Cathy’s Year!

Happy New Years Eve Eve!

Well, I’m “being domestic” today. Or trying to be. I’m not doing too good of a job, huh Daniel? I just can’t seem to get moving but so many distractions keep coming my way. My mom always told me that you should start the New Year with a clean house. I’m trying to get that way. Luckily I have a little of tomorrow to finish up what I don’t get done today.

I’d like to also welcome my friend Daniel Montoya to our official readership. He’s been talking about “how do you comment on your site?” for a little while and I’ve finally gotten him to come out of his lurking state. Maybe now, he’ll grace my site with his comments…. Ah, as long as he introduces me to Eric Whitacre like he says he will, I don’t care if he never comments! Just kidding, Danny – you need to comment now. I’ve put you on the spot. See how I am? 😀

I’ve watched a few movies lately so I need to write some reviews. I’ll do that once I get this place clean – or once I start looking for another distraction.

I am going to go out on the town with Cathy and her co-workers from Unisys. I think it’ll be a lot of fun. 🙂 What’s in your itinerary?

I guess I’ll finish up with my next to last Calvin & Hobbs cartoon. I have one more for tomorrow! That worked out well, didn’t it? I didn’t even plan it! 😀 Hope you’ve enjoyed them.

The weekend and more ‘toons

This weekend was a lot of fun! We got a great reception from the community (and $45 in donations) from our Christmas Caroling. My favorite part was going to the firehouses. They were definitely the most appreciative and also the firemen were HOT! The band mom that set up the schedule made sure she scheduled in 3 firehouses just for me. What a great Christmas gift!! 😉 The after party one of the families hosted was a lot of fun as well. There was so much food (all made by various band parents) and the kids were having a great time playing games and hanging out.

Sunday, I spent the day helping Kelly get things ready for Brian’s birthday bash. Brian spent the day not feeling well. We were kinda worried that he’d be miserable and not have a good time at his own 40th birthday party. Low and behold, once folks started showing up, he pepped up right away! I became designated bartender as soon as Jerry and Diane (Brian’s parents) got there and everyone had smiles on their faces. I knew I should have gotten a bartending job somewhere in my college life. The gumbo that Kelly made was wonderful, the people had a lot of fun and Brian had a great kick into his 40th year.

Today, I went Christmas shopping. I found most of the things I was looking for but it wiped me out! While I was at the mall, I stopped and saw Sami and got to talk to my sister quite bit. Eventually, we’ll find the perfect gift for our dad. 🙂

Well, since I was gone all day yesterday, I didn’t get a chance to post a cartoon so y’all get two today! BONUS!!! They really should be kept together, anyways. Enjoy.

YAY for oozing!

Krez told me to let the Christmas Spirit ooze. I love ooozing with Christmas Spirit! I’ve decorated a little around here and am listening to lots of Christmas music. We’re gonna take the band kiddos caroling tonight then I’m heading to Mon & Sam’s party. I can’t make it Connie’s or Sarah’s tonight but I’ll definitely have to get together with them soon. Tomorrow is Brian’s birthday party. I think that should be really fun! Wednesday is a happy hour evening with Cathy and Stephanie. Before I know it, I’m going to be looking for work to be my down time! Advice taken, huh? 😉

Oh yeah, today’s comic:
