HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
Camping with Connie, Frank, Sami, Veronica, Madeline and their family friends was so much fun. I wish I could have gone for longer than just one night!! Happy birthday to Frank, too! What a great way to celebrate your birthday…camping with several of your close family friends. Inks Lake is so beautiful, too. Those girls were cracking me up last night. How many of my kids is Joel supposed to have again, Sami??? LOL!!! And what about that tiny bird throwing that huge stick at us? And the squirrels throwing the acorns at the baby? Too much fun. Can’t wait for next year!
So much has happened lately. Summer band, visiting Len, watching Alfie (1.5 out of 5 stars

), buying the iBook, Len visiting last week, seeing The Island (2.5 out of 5 stars

), school starting and having a filthy house that has now been somewhat cleaned (I mean it was FILTHY!). The cats have totally missed me and they’ve kept me up a few nights.
This past weekend was nice. Cathy & I went to the House and Garden show and saw Paul James “The Gardener Guy” answer questions. There seems to be quite a problem with trees in the Austin area by the looks of the questions asked on Saturday.
Saturday night, we went to Dennis Whitehead’s going away party. After all these years of working in the Austin theatre scene, he’s taken a job as the Music Director at the Playhouse on the Square in Memphis, TN! The party was fun. Cathy & I got to catch with some old friends and have a few drinks. It was a nice time.
I spent today cleaning house, going to see my mom (and get a massage) and now I’m watching Shark Tale. It’s a pretty cute movie but it’s no Finding Nemo.
I’ve got to go to bed early and keep my sleep schedule from being completely messed up. Maybe I’ll write reviews on the movies later. I’ve not been as good with keeping up with those lately.

BOO!!! Couldn’t go a year driving to and from Houston without getting a ticket. And it’s been YEARS since my last one, too. Thank goodness I haven’t taken defensive driving lately!
Friday was Joe’s birthday. Len & Damon worked very hard to put together a very fun surprise party for him. Of course, it didn’t go over exactly as they’d planned but Joe was still VERY surprised and had a lot of fun! I had only known the overview of the plans for that night but periodically, I felt like the details weren’t working out so I improvised and filled in what seemed to be blanks and it seemed to help.
“You know what I love about Daylight Savings time? It’s 5 ’til 8 and the sun’s still up. Can you believe it?”
“OH, my friend Blanca was telling me the other day how Spanish Flowers was her favorite Mexican restaurant in Houston.”
Good times!!

Saturday, Len & I went to Galveston and hung out on the beach and watched the cruises take off. While there, I had an instinct to call Cheryl and it turned out she & Steve were having their annual crawfish boil. So, we headed out to Kingwood! They had plenty of food, beer, jello shots and hurriacanes. Wow, did I have quite a bit to drink, too. We met some interesting & wonderful people.
Sunday, Joe, Len and I headed out to see Sahara. It was still just as good the second time!
The drive home was utterly tiring so I’m going to head to bed. Long day tomorrow.
