So Much to Say

I’m back to feeling like I have so much I want to get off my chest. I think the Dave Matthews Band expresses my thoughts pretty well for the most part. Thanks Dave!

So Much To Say Lyrics

I say my hell is the closet I’m stuck inside
can’t see the light
and my heaven is a nice house in the sky
I got central heating and I’m alright
yeah yeah yeah can’t see the light
keep it locked up inside don’t talk about it
t-t-talk about the weather
yeah yeah yeah
open up my head and let me out little baby
‘Cos here we have been standing for a long long time
can’t see the light
treading trodden trails for a long long time,
time, time, time, time, time, time

I find sometimes it’s easy to be myself
sometimes I find it’s better to be somebody else

I see you young and soft oh little baby
little feet, little feet, little hands little baby
one year of crying and the words creep up inside
creep into your mind yeah
so much to say, so much to say, so much to say, so much to say
so much to say, so much to say, so much to say, so much to say
‘Cos here we have been standing for a long long time
can’t see the light
treading trodden trails for a long long time………..

I find sometimes it’s easy to be myself
sometimes I find it’s better to be somebody else

so much to say, so much to say, so much to say, so much to say ohh
so much to say, so much to say, so much to say, so much to say
little baby ahh
so much to say, so much to say, so much to say, so much to say
little feet little hands little baby
so much to say, so much to say, so much to say, so much to say

open up my head and let me out little baby

*EDIT* Okay, so maybe just the first verse….

A new young voice to hear

OdysseyHave you heard of or from Hayley Westenra yet? You need to before she gets much older. Her voice is so pure and the music she sings is quite inspiring. I found her song “Never Saw Blue” on this week’s Free Downloads on iTunes. The lyrics and voice just balance so beautifully. Take a listen and let me know what you think.

Victory for the 512!!!

I’m not known as a Longhorn fan…in fact, I’ve claimed to be an anti-fan for years. It’s amazing that having a few ex-students in Longhorn Band (LHB) has changed my alliances. When I watched the Tournament of Roses Parade on Monday, I heard the LHB about 5 floats before I saw them on TV and I couldn’t help but stand up and hold up my Horns. I have horns to hold up??? I guess so.

Tonight, I went to Connie, Sami & Frank’s house to watch the game. I came home early ’cause I was getting sleepy – it was WAY passed my bedtime around halftime – and listened all the way home. It was quite the wild ride listening to that end of the game!!!

Once the game was over, I hadn’t even killed the engine (I actually had to pull over to just listen, the game was THAT intense at the end) and I headed over to Academy ’cause I heard they were going to sell Champions stuff if when the Longhorns won the game. I ran into Kristina, Elyse and Risa there and we got in early. I got my shirt! Once we left, the line went around the corner and I don’t know where the end was!!! Even with the long standing anti-fan-ness (is that a word?), I’ll wear it proud, throwing out the props to the 512 area code!

OH, and as I left, I called my Andrew & Daniel and Andrew let me listen to the band play “Eyes” for a bit. I don’t know if he realized he did that but it was wonderful. Hook ’em!!

2006 is gonna be fabulous!!!

Sorry I didn’t post this before today. I guess we can start this year with the last C&H ‘toon!

Happy New Year!New Years was good. Cathy & I went to The Dog & Duck Pub to meet folks from her work. I got Cathy a flask for Christmas so she wanted to use it and since I had one, we armed ourselves with some Crown and were on our way. Good thing, they don’t sell mixed drinks (other than mixed beer drinks) there! They just have a beer/win license so our bringing liquor was actually a-okay. 🙂

Oh my, they didn’t really “plan” for New Years folks so they only had one bottle of champagne so as soon as Cathy & I found out, I bought it! Damned if we weren’t going to ring in the New Year without champagne. It wasn’t the best stuff but it had bubbles so I was okay. After we closed down the joint, we headed to Kerbey Lane Cafe on campus. If you go and have a salad there, you MUST try the soy-ginger dressing. It’s AMAZING! Kelly, pictures can seen by clicking on my pic above. I did promise and I work very hard to follow through. 🙂

I got home around 5 am (as I posted earlier) and went straight to sleep. I managed to sleep until around 7. The sun started coming up and was in full force by 7:30. It sure does make it hard to sleep. I managed to sleep until about 10 am so I got 5 hours of sleep. I’ve spent most of today feeling like I’ve been hit by a semi. This feeling really isn’t from drinking too much, but it’s from not getting enough sleep after a long day. I did spend most of yesterday finishing up my house cleaning. I hate when I don’t get enough sleep. A day of doing absolutely nothing except going to see my folks is just what I needed.

So, lots of fun, new friends and a whole new year. This is Cathy’s Year!
